Welcome to the Yeovil & Dorchester Model Racing Car Club. [YDMRCC] The Club caters primarily for 1/10th scale on-road cars - both Electric and I.C. We will however cater for any class as long as the drivers are prepared to run on a tarmac track.
The club is situated within the Clay Pigeon Raceway Kart circuit situated midway between Yeovil and Dorchester on the A37 at Warden Hill. Within the kart circuit we have our own designated permanent area for the RC track. We use an AMB lap counting system with hand out transponders.

The YDMRCC track is formed onto a tarmac surface with green painted islands. We are able to make a variety of track types by using portable dividers.
The club has very good facilities with on site WC, burger bar when there is Kart racing, very good cafeteria, covered race control and rostrum. The track is connected to a camp site for either towing caravans or general camping.
Whether you are a serious racer or fun loving enthusiast, YDMRCC is there for the use and enjoyment of all racers, male, female old or young, beginner or experienced. We strive to create an atmosphere where you will always be made welcome and comfortable. The track is available for use virtually all year round seven days a week for practice, whereby an honesty payment scheme is in place.
This means that beginners can practice before entering a race meeting. We do, however, encourage drivers to enter a race meeting as soon as possible as this is the best way of improving driving skills.

Club meetings are normally held on Thursday evenings between 6.30 and 10.00pm and fortnightly on a Sunday morning [The Sunday Club] between 8.30am and 1.30pm. In between these times we run a club championship split over the year into two championships [summer and winter] of six months each, where full on racing is held once a month. The top three winners in each class receive handsome trophies and all other competitors win medals.
We also run a yearly club championship for all club members, again the top three in each class get trophies. At other times there are special race events held. For further information on races dates and special events please refer to the race event calendar.
We have hot & cold pasties, soup, tea, coffee and cold drinks generally available at reasonable prices.
Although a number of classes are firmly established at our race meetings, we are always open to new ideas. If you want to race a different class then please ask a committee member. If the class is suitable and the required minimum of 4 drivers is met then there should be no problem (providing there is enough space in the meeting for the heat).
Please browse around the rest of the site for further information. If you have any questions or suggestions about the Club or this website then please send an e-mail to Trevor Slocombe [chairman] at sloco-win@tiscali.co.uk.
